Fred Northup


Fred Northup, Jr. is one of the Pacific Northwest's busiest entertainers: as an actor and comedy improviser, a host and emcee, an auctioneer, and a musician.  On camera, highlights include hosting "The Xbox Accessories Show" for Xbox 360 and appearing as "Captain Fred McGilicutty " - the hilarious national spokesperson for Copper Mountain Ski Resort - in radio, television, print, and the web, for three years.  Off camera, he was heard for four years as one of Andy Savage's morning show sidekicks on 1077 The End.  His voice appeared in the video games "Midtown Madness 3" and "Project Gotham Racing", as well as in numerous radio and TV campaigns.
 
On stage, Fred has been a company member of Seattle's famed "TheatreSports" comedy improv group for ten years.  He travels the country emceeing and performing comedy improv and sketch at corporate events, and he has created and performed original comedy routines at major corporate events for Microsoft, Starbucks, Boeing, Expedia, and countless others.  Fred is a TheatreSports audience favorite, and has performed the role of "Scrooge" in "A(n Improvised) Christmas Carol" every holiday for three years.
 
As a licensed auctioneer and emcee, Fred been on stage for Make-A-Wish, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Seattle Children's Hospital, Lakeside School, Olympic Medical Center, St. Thomas School, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Works, The Tiger Woods Foundation, YouthCare, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Pilchuck Glass School, and more.  Fred's sense of humor and fun doesn't impede his ability to raise lots of money for great causes.  His infectious energy, tremendous stage presence, strong voice, calm confidence, and passion for non-profit work are keys to his success.
 
Finally, as an accomplished singer and musician, currently performs music for children with the band "Caspar Babypants."  Fred has a bachelors in fine arts in film and television production from New York University.  He lives with his wife, Ashley, and their two young children in Seattle, Washington.
