Bernard’s earliest memories as a child involved birds, whether it was his parent’s love birds that flew around the house or the farm animals on his grandparent’s 9-acre farm in Connecticut. In 2012, his love of birds flourished after discovering a fancy breed of French chickens that laid dark chocolate eggs. This was the start of Fat Hen Farms. Over the years, Bernard started specializing in unique bird species such as emus, pheasants, and the newest addition: quail. After realizing that raising birds wasn’t just a hobby, but a calling in life, he decided to withdraw from medical school to pursue a full-time career on social media.
